Portfolio

Please review some samples of my work. Each of these eLearnings were created individually and outside of my corporate work assgnments. I take corporate security very seriously and did not remove any work product choosing instead to showcase my talent by creating my own projects.

Documentation

Instructional design isn't all eLearning. A lot of what is designed is basic documentation. In fact, I often include a job aid or process map at the end of an eLearning course. Most people aren't going to retake a course over and over again, but if you give them documentation they can refer to, it can be useful.

  • Scenarios and Solutions: As a contract instructional designer, I have been hired to solve a series of problems. This document describes several problematic situations and the solutions I developed to solve them.

  • CSR Handout: This job aid was created for customer service representative (CSR) new hires. The majority of new hires are CSRs so this is a much needed document. It also serves as a template that other departments can use. Given during new hire orientation, it provides an overview of what they can expect in their first month.

  • Music Bed Job Aid: As a podcaster, I developed several job aids I could give to anyone who was supporting me. Every episode started and ended with theme music. This job aid describes how to add the outro to the episode.

  • Colors of Customer Service: I wrote an allegorical tale (think Who Moved My Cheese?) called The Colors of Customer Service. It took place in a world of chameleons that change color based on mood. Peter is a new customer service manager who is mortified to find his team is made up of frustrated reds, discouraged blues and apathetic yellows. Through the course of the book, he sets out to change their colors. This sample contains an excerpt from the book as well as the facilitator and participant guides.

  • Foodie Quiz: This is a PDF of a 10-question quiz developed in Articulate Quizmaker. It includes multiple choice, multiple answer, fill in the blanks, true/false, matching and hot spots.

Karyn's instructional design work is exceptional! Her portfolio showcases creativity and professionalism, making her a standout in the field. Highly recommend her services!
